People have an innate need for connection. I believe we all want to be seen and we yearn to be heard.
“The ability to empathize is a true gift. Finding ways to understand and appreciate another person’s experience comes naturally to me. I care deeply about helping others navigate the process of personal growth and exploration, and I strive to support and validate people’s feelings and experiences.”
About Tammy Glatz Landy, LCSW-C
I opened my private practice in 2008 to help people on their journey to become their best selves.
Have you ever had ruminating or anxious thoughts, struggled to find the language to confront someone because you are conflict averse, or felt concerned that your relationships are strained? It is normal and typical to experience some sort of anxiety or stress in our lives. As a career social worker and therapist, it is my passion to delve deep into difficult and sensitive topics, and to help you better understand your thoughts and feelings. I am inspired by people’s willingness to show vulnerability and to unpack the “hard stuff” we encounter. Most of all, I am intrigued by the unique and individual stories each of us has to tell. I feel honored to facilitate the process of personal growth and exploration, which is defined differently for everyone. The desire to assist clients in managing and maintaining their personal mental health is the primary focus of my practice.
We all experience challenges, pain, and discomfort.
COVID 19 has presented many of us with uncomfortable feelings associated with drastic change, loss, and grief. Many of us struggle with the lack of choice and control, and find it unsettling to be distanced from what was our “normal” world. Feeling grounded while adjusting to new work challenges, on-line schooling, and new familial patterns has presented obstacles and challenged our resilience. Whether you are experiencing this or a life-cycle event (birth, death, celebrations), please know you are not alone. If you find yourself not feeling whole due to stress and anxiety, please give yourself permission to ask for support.
I will be with you every step of the way.
To best support you, I will help you unload the deep feelings that arise from these circumstances by looking together at the patterns, motivations, and negative thoughts that are holding you back from feeling fulfilled or from being available to yourself or others. My technique is to move at your pace and to challenge you when appropriate. I typically use a psychodynamic or solution-focused approach, and I aim to provide a nurturing and objective perspective to assist you on your journey. It would be my privilege to work with you—to help you feel more confident and to give you the tools to trust your inner voice again.
Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, walking, swimming, reading, watching Netflix, and spending time with my family.
